The benefits of blueberries

Humans have been eating blueberries for more than 10 000 years, but it’s only relatively recently that we’ve come to understand how incredibly healthy they are for us.

Blueberries are known as a “superfood” because they’re low in calories but rich in nutrients and vitamins. They’re the king of antioxidants and help protect the body’s cells naturally. The health benefits of eating blueberries include a reduced risk of cancer, lower blood pressure and better memory retention. They also help fight inflammation and boost your immune system. Plus, they’re absolutely delicious!

Madikwe Berry’s blueberries

At Madikwe Berry we grow blueberries primarily for the export market. We sell our blueberries, through our partners at BerryWorld South Africa with whom we are contracted, to markets in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. We also supply blueberries to the local South African market.

Because we harvest our berries in spring and summer in the southern hemisphere, we are able to supply them during the northern hemisphere’s winter months.

Our berries are sweet, fat and plump. They are pollinated naturally by bees and are hand-picked, and every effort is made to ensure that every single berry you eat from our farm is world-class and delicious.
